Best car experience: Drive all the way to Spa on my own in my old Alfa, check into a hotel among friendly Belgians on a warm summer night. And drive to SpaItalia early the next morning - Wow!

The best GPL-track: Nürburgring

GPL is cool because: Love it when (I think) I find the balance

The best race driver ever: Stirling Moss was really skilled and determined, Michael Shumacher is unreal (as is his car) but Tom Kristensen is a new motoring-hero who ecclipses the old records in a real car

We were there from the start

Per Einarsson was entered by ITR for the 1966 24-hours race at Le mans.

A race expected to be dominated by the Ferrari-Ford war saw some tough dicing between the bigbore GT40 of Bruce Mclaren entered by Shelby American and the ITR Alfa.

The blue Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce pitted in during the night with differential trouble and was retired after 30 minutes of fruitless repair.

Another race lost. But then again -
almost won as well ...
We were there from the start

For the 1921 Targa Florio Scuderia Into The Red sent Per Einarsson in the Alfa Romeo 166 3-litre.

The cars were sent off with 2 minute intervals and the Silver Alfa soon catched Giulio Ramponi in the factory-entered Alfa Romeo 40-60HP.

But the ITR team manager retired when he stopped for an espresso and the car was stolen.

Per Einarsson drove the 1985 Formula 1 race at Spa Francorchamps in the white Alfa Romeo 164 2-litre.

The main fight of the day was the 10-lap dice between Einarsson and Ayrton Senna in the John Player black Lotus-Renault.

Co-driver Gert Sterner, who filmed the whole batang on his DV-cam, was unfortunate to spill some Coca-Cola into the instruments of the Alfa, which led to a premature retirement.
